It offers an all you can eat buffet of homemade food, with a lot of options for salad (organic green leaves), hot vegetarian dishes and a meat option. There’s a big variety for juice options and they’re all fresh. The price is friendly and Bea’s (on the picture above) tight hugs are a plus. <3

Tasty Daily Specials (Called “Prato Feito”or “PF” in Portuguese, it’s an specific amount of food for a friendly fare) and attentive service! They usually have two different options of the Daily Special dish and the vegetarians can ask for an omelette. It is a family business and you can notice their care on the details.

Taiwanese vegetarian cookery, very tasty. Nice fare and the all you can eat buffet has a great variety. Big part of the dishes are fried food. If you are vegan, tell them they show you the option in the buffet and also prepare some things, like spring rolls without cheese. It’s located right in the center of Foz do Iguaçu and it’s attended by many locals, including carnivores, because the food tastes very well.

 

4. Sabor Mais Natural

Healthy food, with a lot of salad, grains, and vegetarian options. The cool thing is that there’s a great variety in their menu and there are always new stuff. The restaurant offers a fare according to the weight of your food (it’s a common way of restaurants in Brazil, we call it “Buffet por kilo”) and options of natural juices. It’s located downtown, inside a small shopping center.

 

5. Pomare

Store of natural products, fruits and vegetables, and there is also a gourmet place. At lunch time there is a risotto option, that changes everyday, and is served according to the weight. Some days they are vegetarian dishes, such as al funghi and sun-dried tomato.

Italian restaurant in the center of Foz do Iguaçu. They offer a “pay-what-you-weigh” buffet at  lunch and à la carte at night. “The place is charming and the food is very good: when I went at lunch there was rice, beans, beef, chicken chest, several salads, whole wheat rice, fruits, vegetarian pastas.. and many other things” – Carol Cañete’s tip, resident in Foz do Iguaçu.

A restaurant with homemade and mineira (food made in Minas Gerais style, Minas Gerais is a Brazilian State which is known for having vary tasty food), with a great variety of salad, hot dishes and desserts. It counts with a great space, including external area with tables under the trees. The buffet is available for you to take as much as you want and the fare is affordable.

 

8. Hokila

Traditional Chinese restaurant that serves all you can eat buffet at lunch time, and à la carte at night. Some of the dishes have the base (yakisoba, spring rice) and separated meat, so it’s a good option vegetarians and carnivores. It’s right in the center of Foz do Iguaçu.

 

9. Casa de Carne Monjolo

Tip from Mehanna and Nour, locals at Foz do Iguaçu and Arab descendants: “Old classical Arabic gastronomy. Simple and traditional Arabic food place in Foz do Iguaçu. Since it is also a butchery, the meat is the feature. You can see by the butchery that the place is very clean and well cared.

There aren’t many varieties of dishes, but everything has an excellent quality. In the hot ones, the main options are freshly-made barbecue skewers, like Kafta and Shish Taouk (chicken with Arabic specialties). And from the cold dishes, highlights for raw meat. Raw Kibe and raw Kafta are the best of the triple frontier. The prices are fair, since a big meal for 2 peoples, including cold cuts, salads and hot dishes with drink, runs around R$60,00″.

 

10. Iate Clube Maringá

The restaurant is part of a fishing club, so they know a lot about fish. They offer a buffet with salad, hot dishes, fish and seafood, besides a là carte options. The place isn’t “exquisite”, but the view to Parana River is very beautiful! Despite being a bit far, it isn’t very far from the city center. You can’t pay by card, only cash.

 

11. Castelo Libanês

Traditional Lebanese food restaurant in Foz do Iguaçu. They serve meat, rice with lentil, stuffed grape leaves, hummus (well praised) and other pates, Arabic candies and other desserts. The dishes are à la carte and at the weekend there is also an Arabic buffet.

 

12. Restaurante Escola Senac Cataratas

The meals are prepared by the students and the responsable Chef of Senac School and served in 3 dishes: salad, main dish and dessert. The dishes are tasty and the fare is affordable for a gourmet meal (starting at R$ 25 when I wrote this post).

15. Falls Food Park

A food court at the avenue that takes to the Iguassu Falls, that bring together several restaurants and snack bars with different options of food – like Arabic, Oriental, Mexican culinary, besides handmade hamburgers, tapiocas, açaí and others.

Each restaurant is in a container and there wooden tables covered by a large tent, but it feels like being outdoors. There is also a playground for those who go with children (which is paid separately).

 

16. Saty

Salads, hot dishes and sushis served on a pay-what-you-weigh buffet from Tuesday to Sunday. There is also à la carte options and on Sunday they open for lunch. The food is tasty, the price is affordable and there is the facility of the buffet.

Italian restaurant with different pizza toppings, like gorgonzola and walnuts. Their lasagna is also famous and the vegetarian option made with eggplant is very good too! The place is very cozy, placed in a house with rustic decoration, very grandma’s home style.

 

18. Sushi Hokkai

Hokkai is another option of the japanese culinary. The quality and the taste of the dishes are very good. It is attended by the local people and foreign tourist usually go there too.

Opened until 2a.m.

Snack bar located in Vila A (Itaipu direction) or inside the food court Falls Food Park. Django is specialized in handmade hamburger, but also offers appetizers, açaí and soups in the winter. On the drink menu there are long neck beers, some special beers and cocktails. The place is cool, with containers and a covered woodmade deck.

For those who have gluten intolerance > there’s also gluten free hamburger bread, from Panelinha Saudável!

Italian Restaurant, that serves fresh pasta which is prepared every day. It’s menu includes pastes, risottos and meat. They also have a wine menu and even an attached Wine House. The place is pleasant, half-lighted, with interessant decoration.

For those who have gluten intolerance > there’s the option of pasta without gluten!

 

21. Píer 35

Gastrobar with a sophisticated beach restaurant environment. With a varied menu, they offer meat, bar appetizers and also risottos (I loved the mushrooms one). There are many options of homemade beer and special chopps. In some nights there is live music.

 

22. Trigo & Cia

Open 24 hours/day

A bakery that serves salty and sweet snacks, pies and coffees. Besides, they serve pasta, omelette and salad by that style where you get to chose what ingredients you want on the dish. The great thing is that Trigo & Cia is one of the few places in Foz do Iguaçu that opens 24h, so it frequently saves the early-hour hungry fellows.

25. Trilha do Açaí

Açaí store, with tasty goods and a diversified menu. The serve pure açaí in different sizes, with additionals that may be chosen by you, layered açaí, stuffed cheesy bread, sandwiches and juices. Since the weather is very hot in Foz, açaí is a good choice for the snack time.

 

26. Jauense

The most traditional bakery in Foz do Iguaçu, with a big variety of salty or sweet snacks. The coxinha  is very, very good! The fare is higher than in other bakeries, but the quality is too.

A coffee shop situated on Cataratas Avenue, at a wood made house beautifully decorated. The rustic and handmade items spread all around the place (which are also for sale) brings up a very cozy climate. A good place to chitchat, have a coffee and snack.

Gourmet coffee shop, with a pleasant environment and varied menu. Many options of snacks (some of them freshly made), dozens of types of coffees hot and ice, homemade beers, sandwiches, pies, dish for lunch and others. The couches are also inviting for a good chatting!

 

29. Black Cat Café + Pop Art

They serve hot and iced coffees, delicious salty and sweet own creations. There are vegetarian and vegan options, and there is always fresh vegetable milk to substitute any drink on the menu. For gluten and lactose intolerants, there is cheese bread and pot pie from Panelinha Saudável.

Black Cat got together with Pop Art, so now they are a coffee-store, also having a “menu” of stylish series, cinema, literature and music t-shirts, gifts and decorations.

 

30. Barbarela

Traditional in the city, Barbarela was one of the first places to care about serving healthy food around here. They serve natural sandwiches, snacks, many options of juices and also açaí.

 

31. Gramadão da Vila A

Gramadão is a park maintained by Itaipu, where a lot of street peddlers sell food in the evening. There’s usually hamburger, skewer, crepe, churro and others. A pleasant place for the children to play (by running, slipping on the grass or on the bouncy castles) or lay on the grass and relax.

In there, we like very much Lesko Burger, that serves stuffed hamburger and veggie options (in this case you have to inform them before by their facebook or even eat without the hamburger, which is also very good). The concept is very different, they give you the bread and you serve yourself at the buffet of salads and sauces. To make it complete, there are tables or poufs on the grass, so you can be at ease.

Pérola Negra also serves hamburger and has a vegan option. The sandwiches are delicious, with generous sizes and some of them come with fries.

 

32. Oficina do Sorvete

It opens until midnight

They make homemade ice cream in the same place and it’s very tasty. There are the options of fare by scoops, or pay per kilo. There are also other options – like french breads – but their specialty is the ice cream.

 

33. Bad Ass Café

With a Brooklyn coffee shop style, it serves coffees, snacks and also chopp. Nice place to chit chat on the comfortable couches or external tables. To eat, there is cookies, cakes, pies and also vegan options > empanadas and lentil hamburger.
