The Birds’ Park is located in Foz do Iguassu – PR, Brazil, very close to the National Park and the Iguassu Falls. In the middle of the Atlantic Forest, with an environment that reproduces the original habitat of the animal, is home to more than 1.000 birds, beside reptiles and butterflies.

I have visited the park many times and my favorite part is always enter the large nurseries, where tucanos goes with you on the walkway, while blue and red araras flyby our heads.

Even for those who aren’t used to visiting zoos and parks like this, as long as they don’t like to see animal inside nurseries, the tour is recommended. That’s because the Birds’ Park has a very interesting job. Find out why:

Shelter and Recovery of Birds

Around 50% of the birds come from seizures performed by the Environment Police, Federal Police and Ibama (Brazilian Institute of the Environment and the Renewable Natural Resources), according to the official website of the park. These animals are rescued from mistreatment situations, traffic and illegal ownership. Other birds come from Recovery Centers and Wild Animals Screenings. They also receive weakened animals and cubs that were given to environmental agencies after falling from their nests.

These birds are treated by veterinarians of the park, then, those who are considered by Ibama unable to go back to the nature remain there.

In other words, even the animal rights defenders can visit the Birds’ Park with getting so guilty. <3
